Ray Simar has been the chief architect and program manager for several DSPs at Texas Instruments. Among these are the TMS320C3x family (the first CMOS floating-point DSPs) the TMS320C4x (one of the first parallel processing DSPs) and the TMS320C6x family of VLIW DSPs. He current holds the title of Texas Instruments Fellow and is involved in exploring new architecture trends to deal with the impact of process technology.



Why is TI Blogging?

Blogging seemed inconspicuous enough when the first blogs appeared. Blogs provided a new forum for expression and discussion on any imaginable topic – and some unimaginable. It offered an unfettered exchange of ideas taking place in real time across vast distances amongst diverse individuals. But blogging, as a new communication architecture, went largely unnoticed. That is, until it came head to head with old communication architecture in 2004 when Dan Rather and CBS ran a questionable story about President Bush’s service in the National Guard.
